Steve is the senior managing partner of Derrick Financial Group, a family operated financial services firm.  As a financial advisor for Park Avenue Securities, Steve focuses on working closely with clients to maximize their wealth potential.  He specializes in helping small business owners integrate their personal and business finances to create efficiencies of cash flow to achieve protection of assets and wealth creation. 

Prior to joining Derrick Financial Group, Steve was an officer in the Air Force. He was an operational A-10 pilot for 3 years in the United Kingdom and subsequently, a flight and classroom instructor at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona for 3 years. After leaving the Air Force in 1986, he joined the Wallace Financial Group in Bethesda, Maryland and subsequently joined Derrick Financial Group in 1992. 

Steve has completed comprehensive course instruction from the American College and has received 2 highly respected industry designations, Charter Life Underwriter(CLU ®) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC ®).  He is committed to insuring family security and wealth accumulation for his clients through education and implementation of the best financial products and services available in the market place today.

Steve is a member of the South Anne Arundel County Rotary Club, where he served as president during the 2009-10 Rotary year. Steve is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University where he majored in economics.  He enjoys golfing and bicycling and resides in the Annapolis area with his wife Julie and sons, Ben and Spencer.
